I bought this book used and the seller really took the time to pack it well. There wasn't a dog-eared page in the entire book. The color reproduction is perfect which is really key for this painter that worked during the short-lived transition between candles and incandescent light. It's incredibly transportive to the long-gone days of gas-lit cabarets. A beautiful addition to any art book collection. I'd buy it again. Recommend highly.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.Colorful and thorough workBy ReaderguyBeautiful book. The text is thorough and the pictures beautifully presented. BattenAfter viewing a documentary dvd on Toulouse in Montmartre, especially his facility with drawing and colour, I wanted something that I could refer and study at leasure. This book, to me, is the answer. Large format, easy to read and goo0d colour plates. it will give me much pleasure to constantly appreciate a great contemporary artist that had a large impact on the art of the 20th century. Don't disregard him for some of his subject matter, revel in his vision and expertise.See all 6 customer reviews...
